Briefs: 'Seussical' auditions in Bartlett

The Bartlett Park District is looking for men interested in coming in at 8:30 p.m. today to audition for the family theater production of "Seussical the Musical," based on the works of Dr. Seuss. Hoffman police open house

The Hoffman Estates Police Department invites all residents to its annual open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 2 at 1200 Gannon Drive. You can tour the police station, inspect squad cars, talk to officers from various units about police operations and tactics.

Big trucks in Barrington

The weekend marks the 9th annual Big Trucks event in Barrington. which gives those who attend the opportunity to explore some of the village's largest vehicles. The event, scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ron Beese Park, will feature 25 trucks, including all sorts of construction equipment and fire trucks. Participants will be able to learn more about each truck, watch demonstrations and even get behind the wheel. The event also will feature various foods and a performance by Maryann and the Professors. The event is sponsored by the Barrington Park District, Village of Barrington, the Barrington Fire Department and Barrington Bank and Trust.
