Bush won the same way Obama just did

If you count every vote cast in the Democratic primary, including Michigan and Florida voters, then Hillary did indeed win the popular vote. However, Obama played by the preset electoral rules, and won the nomination.

Compare this with the hotly contested 2000 general election, in which Gore won the popular vote, but Bush won the electoral vote. The Democrats then cried, "Every vote counts", "The people's voices are not being heard", and "Bush stole the election".

But now that the media-darling Obama has won his primary, ironically based on the same preset process that elected Bush to the presidency in 2000, I don't hear Democrats screaming that Obama "stole the election."

What happened to the outrage from the political party of "every vote counts"? The Democratic leadership decided that votes cast in Michigan and Florida should be counted as half of a vote. Further, they also employ a super-delegate system, which puts the individual voter another step removed from the electoral process, in addition to counting them as "half of a person."

I don't expect Americans to accurately remember political history from eight years ago. Many do not follow or even care about politics, and often just numbly recite whatever the liberal media has put in the headlines.

But I wonder if any Democrat with an iota of intellectual honesty recognizes the blatant hypocrisy or double-standard displayed by their party this primary season. If they do, they would have to put to rest the rancorous scorn of the "stolen election" they have carried on about since 2000 and recognize that Bush won a close election the same way Obama just did. However, I'm certain the blind hatred of anything related to Bush that many Democrats have will prevent them from seeing this parallel clearly.
