Murder link investigated

Investigators are following up on a tip that a man killed by police during a hostage situation this week in South suburban Dolton is linked to the shooting deaths of five women at a Lane Bryant store about 10 miles away. Authorities in Tinley Park have been searching for a suspect in those store killings since February. In Dolton on Tuesday, a man was shot dead outside an insurance office after he held a woman there hostage. She was found dead inside. Tinley Park police Cmdr. Steve Vaccaro says the tip that the two incidents might be linked is one of around 3,000 total tips his department's received. He says Tinley Park investigators are treating it like any other tip.
