Adobo Grill linked to illness

Health officials say nine of 17 Chicagoans sickened by salmonella-tainted tomatoes dined at Adobo Grill, which has two city locations. The Chicago Department of Public Health on Wednesday said that three of the 17 people who have become ill since mid-April were hospitalized. All have been discharged and have recovered. City officials say Adobo Grill has been inspected and is in compliance with food safety regulations. Paul LoDuca is the president of DaVinci Group, the management company that operates one restaurant location. He says the restaurant was an "unknowing victim." LoDuca says there was no way to know if tomatoes purchased for the restaurant were contaminated with salmonella.
