Chicago Botanic Garden

The Carillon Concert Series around the carillon bell tower on Evening Island begins 7 p.m. Monday and continues subsequent Mondays through Aug. 25.

Saladeen Alamin performs 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.

A farmer's market runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 6.

Morton Arboretum

A special "Open House" is from noon to 4 p.m. today with plenty of activities for kids and tours of the arboretum grounds. Tickets, which include admission, are $15 and $10 for kids. The arboretum is at the Reagan Tollway (I-88) and Route 53 in Lisle. Call (630) 968-0074 or mortonarb.org.
