Patrick Judge of Hawthorn Woods received a bachelor's decree in communication with an emphasis in American studies from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo., during its May 17 commencement ceremony. Judge is a 2004 graduate of St. Viator.
Jennifer L. Cashmore of Round Lake Beach, daughter of Dennis and Karen Cashmore, received a bachelor's degree at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on May 10. She was a Dean's Honor Scholar, and a 2004 graduate of Round Lake High School.
Andrew Paul Everding of Green Oaks graduated cum laude from John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Ark., on May 3.
Sharon E. Grieger, daughter of John and Mary Grieger of Round Lake, a first-year veterinary student at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, received the Cora E. and Lora M. Sims Scholarship Award, which is given to top students entering their first year of study at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Grieger is a 2003 graduate of Mundelein High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Kristen Meylor of Vernon Hills, daughter of Pam and Joe Meylor, received the Rhodes Dunlap Collegiate Award at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Meylor is a French and Spanish double-major and founded the Language Connection at Iowa. She graduated from Vernon Hills High School in 2006.
Kati Sprague, daughter of Bill and Lisa Sprague of Antioch, was named to the dean's list for the fourth consecutive semester at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. Kati is a 2006 graduate of Antioch Community High School. She just completed her Sophomore Year in the Rosen School of Hospitality.

Samantha Satachowiak, of Lake Zurich was named to the dean's list in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for the 2007-08 fall semester. She is an English major working toward a minor in Secondary Education.
Michael E. Ferro, son of Kerry and Kathy Ferro of Mundelein, received a master's degree in law enforcement and justice administration from Western Illinois University in Macomb during the spring commencement exercises on May 9. Ferro is a 2001 graduate of Mundelein High School.
Kara L. Ferro, daughter of Kerry and Kathy Ferro of Mundelein, received a bachelor's degree in early childhood education with an endorsement in special education from Illinois State University in Normal during the spring commencement exercises on May 10. Ferro is a 2003 graduate of Mundelein High School.
Chase Weigt of Lake Zurich, son of Ed and Ellen Weigt, received a bachelor's degree in business from the Kelley School of Business and a bachelor's degree in communications from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., at the May 3 commencement ceremonies. Weigt graduated with high distinction, signifying the upper 10 percent of his graduating class. He is a 2003 graduate of Lake Zurich High School.
Weigt has been a recipient of the IU Faculty Award, IU Foundation Award, IU Founders Day Honor, Gene B. Glick Scholarship, and Kowalski Scholarship, as well as a National Society of Collegiate Scholars Invitation. He was named "Indiana University Male Athlete of the Year" in 2008.
