The media's love of box office success
Maybe I'm in the minority on this one, but I do not care one iota as to what film grossed what ungodly sum over a said weekend.
My guess is that in keeping with the foolish notion that if-something-is-popular, it-has-to-be-good theory, every media outlet feels it necessary to remind us of box office receipts on any given Monday.
This so-called information makes a very strong case as to why entertainment companies should stay out of the news business and vice versa.
