Inconvenienced over cough syrup

As an individual, it is important to me to retain certain rights that are becoming more and more restricted. One right in particular is being able to go to the store and purchase cough syrup without any inconveniences. There has been an increase in teenagers abusing over-the-counter drugs to get high. It is because of these teenagers that many responsible people must be penalized, sequentially to prevent these few individuals from causing harm to each other. It seems illogical to penalize responsible individuals in turn to prevent a few teens from getting high off of cough syrup.

Granted a community must help its members, but how much help do we have to give before we loose or own rights?
