Dundee Township library notes

On June 23, children of all ages can come face to face with a 15 foot, 3,000 pound great white shark at the Dundee Township Public Library.

"Sharks!" will be presented by Ocean Adventures, a California-based team of Wayne and Karen Brown, both marine biologists with over 20 years of experience. The Browns will share their experiences with these fascinating creatures and bring the mysteries of the deep, blue sea to the children's department, beginning at 2 p.m. in the library's meeting room.

Children will discover the facts about sharks and what it would be like to dive with the sharks. Free tickets will be available at the children's desk 30 minutes prior to the performance.

The library is at 555 Barrington Ave., East Dundee. For information, call (847) 428-3661, ext. 310.

Picnic Movie Night: Summer is the time for picnics and relaxing activities. So join an evening of family fun when the library presents "Picnic Movie Night" at 5:30 p.m. June 26.

Bring your picnic supper to enjoy with other families and a blanket/tablecloth to spread out on to the library's meeting room. Promptly at 6 p.m., the movie "Angels in the Outfield" will be shown. And if you didn't have enough to eat, snacks will be provided during the movie.

All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver for this free summer event. To register your family, either come to the children's department, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee, or call the library at (847) 428-3661, ext. 310 or go to www.dundeelibrary.info for online registration.
