The problem with untrained dogs

Dog excrement and urine spread disease, worms, ticks and is just disgusting and an insult to others.

Since 1962, we have had three dogs, all trained easily to use a 7-by-20-foot area along our detached two-car garage. Wood chips make for easy upkeep. Ours is a corner lot.

People walk from blocks away to "water" their dogs -- too far for small dogs in the heat. Their exercise walk ends when the dogs deposit.

I use a shovel and a waste container. I've watched a woman kneel down with a paper plate, holding it under the dog's rear end. Not a pretty sight.

I don't know if these dogs are healthy, had their shots, are dropping worms or ticks which might infect my dog.

Leashes that extend 20 to 25 feet let the dogs cover a wide area.

I use a riding mower and parking it in the garage with just a little dog dropping in the treads of the tires is not good.

What's with people??
