Kane County launching active recreation series
The Forest Preserve District of Kane County is launching an active recreation series for those in their twenties and thirties, beginning with a bike tour along the Fox River Trail.
The monthly "20s and 30s" gatherings will include a variety of activities at forest preserves throughout Kane County.
The series is kicked off with a Fox River Bike Tour on Saturday, June 28. The leisurely and informative bike ride will start at 9:30 a.m. at the parking lot at Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve in St. Charles. During the 10-mile round-trip ride on the Fox River Trail, riders will learn about the history of the bike trail and the ecological features of the river along the way.
Participants must provide their own bicycle and helmet. There will be refreshments at the Nature Center following the ride at 11:30 a.m.
Tekakwitha Woods is located off Route 25, one mile north of Army Trail Road. The address is 35W076 Villa Maria Road, St. Charles.
