Armed Aurora man arrested at church
A suburban Chicago man was arrested Sunday as he waited to take Holy Communion at a South Side Catholic church with a gun tucked into his pants.
Police say 57-year-old David Kucia of Aurora has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Parishioners at Nativity of Our Lord Church allegedly saw Kucia move the gun from his back pocket to his waistband before heading toward the altar for Communion.
They then notified two off-duty Chicago police officials at the church for services.
Deputy Chief James Keating and Sergeant Joseph Kipka took Kucia into custody outside the church. Police say he told them he also had a 12-gauge shotgun inside his vehicle.
No telephone listing for David Kucia in Aurora could be found.
