Pool rehab plans are well-publicized

I would like to clarify some of Karen Palmer's comments in her June 9 letter to the editor in regards to the Buffalo Grove Park District's Willow Stream Pool Renovation. The Buffalo Grove Park District did hold a public hearing on May 24, 2007.

At that hearing, which was publicized in both area newspapers, two concepts were presented. She is correct that specific groups, such as pass holders, swim team and day camp families were not contacted directly back then, and is probably correct in her inference that they should have been; however, the opportunity to provide feedback was publicized to the entire community, and it is also important to point out that people did attend the public hearing and voice their opinions.

A letter has since gone out to all pass holders, swim team and day camp families, and the plan is available for view on the park district's web site at bgparkdistrict.org, and at the Alcott Center.
