Calling all fairy godmothers to the Women's Leadership Circle event
Join the Elgin Area Chamber’s Women's Leadership Circle to volunteer as a Fairy Godmother getting ready for the YWCA Elgin's “Cinderella's Closet” event.
This heartwarming experience contributes to making prom dreams a reality for high school students.
The cost is $10 per person; proceeds will be donated to the YWCA. Sign up via business.elginchamber.com/events/.
Volunteers will help sort dresses and accessories for the March 10 event which transforms into a magical formalwear boutique, offering a delightful shopping experience for high schoolers on Saturday, March 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Dresses, jewelry, purses, shoes, and makeup are available for a $25 donation or free with a referral from their high school guidance counselor.
At the event, a personal shopper will help the high schoolers as they select from thousands of dresses in the latest current styles, many new with tags, in sizes ranging from petite to plus sizes. Once a dress is found, then they will select jewelry and other accessories to complete the outfit.
The Women's Leadership Circle is a collaboration of women leaders to help you build relationships and extend your personal and professional development. The group of women representing many sectors of business, education, health care, and nonprofits meets monthly. They alternate meeting times — one-month meeting for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the next for an evening reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Save the next meeting dates of March 21 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and April 25 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
