Carpentersville attack leads to charges
A Carpentersville man has been accused of beating another man with a baseball bat and is being held in the Kane County jail.
Antwan Deon Youngblood, 29, last known address 1303 York Drive, was charged with three counts of attempted murder, police said.
At 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, police found a 21-year-old Carpentersville man lying in the road on the 2700 block of Hopi Lane.
The man was unconscious and had a severe head injury. He was taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
The victim had been shooting BBs at passing cars and one of them struck the red Pontiac Youngblood was driving, police said.
Youngblood got out of the car, argued with the victim and then left. However, he returned, argued again with the victim and then beat the man with the bat, police said.
Youngblood was on parole for delivery of a controlled substance and aggravated battery to a police officer, according to state records.
Youngblood's bond was set at $100,000 and his next court date is June 12 at the Kane County Judicial Center.
