Matthews, Guerrero help Angels end Kazmir's streak
Gary Matthews Jr. and Vladimir Guerrero homered, Maicer Izturis hit a go-ahead single, and the Los Angeles Angels beat Tampa Bay 4-2 on Wednesday in Anaheim, Calif., to snap Scott Kazmir's six-game winning streak.
John Lackey (3-1) allowed 2 runs and 4 hits over 7½ innings, striking out seven and walking two. The right-hander, who had a career-high 19 wins and an AL-best 3.01 ERA last year, has a 1.83 ERA mark in 6 starts after spending the first 6½ weeks of the season on the disabled list with a strained triceps. He is 9-1 with a 2.25 in 11 career starts against Tampa Bay.
Scot Shields pitched two-thirds of an inning, and Francisco Rodriguez worked a hitless ninth for his major-league-leading 27th save in 28 chances. It was his 24th straight save, extending his club record.

Mariners 2, Blue Jays 1: Raul Ibanez singled home the winning run in the ninth inning, Felix Hernandez (5-5) worked 8 strong innings, and Seattle beat host Toronto. Seattle improved to 10-23 away from home and won a three-game road series for the first time since taking two of three at Tampa Bay on April 8-10. Seattle also swept a two-game series in Oakland on April 16-17.
Red Sox 6, Orioles 3: Bartolo Colon (4-1) got the 150th victory of his career with 6 strong innings for host Boston, allowing 1 run and 5 hits against Baltimore. Colon was staked to a 5-0 lead. Jason Varitek's 3-run homer capped the Red Sox's 5-run first inning against Garrett Olson (5-2).
Twins 8, Indians 5: Justin Morneau drove in 3 runs, and Jason Kubel hit a homer to help Minnesota beat host Cleveland and snap a six-game losing streak. Nick Blackburn (5-4) won for the first time since May 16, allowing 2 runs and 7 hits over 6 innings as the Twins moved 2 games ahead of third-place Cleveland in the AL Central.
National League
Marlins 6, Phillies 2: Dan Uggla hit a game-ending grand slam with one out in the ninth inning, and host Florida beat Philadelphia for its second victory in as many nights against the NL East leaders. Jorge Cantu homered twice for the Marlins off Cole Hamels, who was nearly flawless otherwise. Hamels struck out 13 in eight innings.
Pirates 3, Nationals 1: Ryan Doumit homered for the third time in two games for Pittsburgh, and Ian Snell pitched into the seventh inning to earn his first win in 11 starts as the host Pirates topped Washington. Doumit singled twice and Freddy Sanchez had 2 hits and scored a run for the Pirates, who have won three of four.
Cardinals 10, Reds 0: Rick Ankiel and Jason LaRue homered off Johnny Cueto, and St. Louis' Braden Looper (8-5) pitched a 3-hitter for his first career shutout as the visiting Cardinals pounded Cincinnati. Ryan Ludwick also homered for the Cardinals, who won their fourth straight.
Brewers 10, Astros 6: Corey Hart hit 2 of Milwaukee's season-high 5 home runs, and the Brewers snapped a five-game losing streak at Minute Maid Park with a win over Houston. Miguel Tejada, Carlos Lee and Ty Wigginton hit solo homers for the Astros, who've lost 10 of their last 13.
Mets 5, Diamondbacks 3: Carlos Beltran hit a 2-run homer with two outs in the 13th inning, and host New York overcame another blown save by Billy Wagner to snap a five-game losing streak by beating Arizona. The Mets chased a bruised Brandon Webb early and took advantage of a key error by third baseman Mark Reynolds, who tied it by hitting a 3-run shot off Wagner with two outs in the ninth inning.
