Human leg found in Cook County cemetery

HOMEWOOD -- The Cook County medical examiner's office is releasing no information about a human leg found in pile of dirt in a suburban Chicago cemetery.

The leg was found Sunday afternoon in a section of Homewood Memorial Gardens cemetery where the indigent are usually buried.

Penny Mateck of the Cook County sheriff's office says the skin and muscles of the leg were still attached.

The leg was taken to the medical examiner's office, but authorities there did not have any information about it on Monday. Mateck says police do not suspect criminal activity.
