Galatea now open at Deer Park
A grand opening took place Saturday at the new Galatea store at Deer Park Town Center.
The shop recently relocated from Randhurst Shopping Center in Mount Prospect to the outdoor mall.
The new location is double the size from the previous store. There is now more room for teas from around the world and more teawares, said owner Sofia Motamedi.
The shop is also offering bubble tea and a small variety of sweets to accompany the beverages.

A number of stores are hosting big sales Thursday through July 7.
Holiday hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 6 and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 7. Some stores open early for special deals.
For example, shoppers can take an additional 20 percent off all merchandise from 7 to 10 a.m. from July 3 to 6 at A/X Armani Exchange.
At Lacoste, shoppers can take an additional 20 percent off the lowest ticketed price on selected items throughout the store from July 3 to 6.

Sports facts: How well do you know sports trivia?
A trivia contest takes place from 3 to 4 p.m. July 18 at the food court at Westfield Old Orchard.
The winner takes home a sports trivia trophy.
Hungry? Tokio Sake Japanese Restaurant is expected to open soon at Deer Park Town Center in Deer Park. The eatery will be located next to Cold Stone Creamery on the south side of the center.
For kids: Dragon Tales Interactive Story Time takes place at 6:30 p.m. July 15 at Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie. The event is part of the free family summer fun series taking place at the center in connection with the Skokie Library.
