Give taxpayers free game tickets
As a taxpayer in Elgin I was very disappointed to see the state-of-the-art softball field we built for the Chicago Bandits that supposedly was going to cost $350,000 ended up costing Elgin $700,000. To top it off with the river so high we recently had to put in material and labor to protect it from the approaching flood waters.
Tonight as I watch the Bandits game on cable TV, I see all the empty seats in the stands and I got one of my common sense ideas. Perhaps the Bandit's owner as a gesture of good will to the taxpayer's of Elgin could allow Elgin taxpayer's the opportunity to see a game for free or more realistically just for the price of all their tax dollars that are in that softball field.
