Seals joins crowd who stretch ethics

We have seen quite enough of Illinois politicians who show ethical lapses.

We all know about Gov. Blagojevich's problems. He may go down as our worst governor.

Those of us in Cook County are dismayed at the goings on in President Stroger's office. Under Stroger, we have become the most heavily taxed metropolitan area in the country. All of these taxes are paid to fuel a growing patronage army.

Now we see Dan Seals paying for votes with free gas in Lincolnshire. Our energy problems need long-term solutions, not political stunts that strain ethical conduct.

Let's hope we find alternatives to people like Blagojevich, Stroger and Seals before they do any more damage.
