New contract considered:
The Maine Township High School District 207 board meets Tuesday to consider a proposed contract with its teachers union. The meeting is set for 7 a.m. at the district's administration center, 1131 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge. The proposal would cover teachers for five years. Until a new pact is approved, teachers are covered under the terms of a five-year agreement that expired on Aug. 15, 2007. Talks started in February 2007 to draft an agreement for the district's 650 teachers. A federal mediator was called in earlier this month to help the two sides reach a new pact.

There will also be kids events, live music and a variety of health-related activities sponsored Northwest Community Hospital. Free parking is available at the Vail Parking Garage and at the surface lots near the train station at Dunton Avenue and Northwest Highway.
