Carpentersville firm hosts Komen event

For Famous Dave's, serving the community plays a significant role in the company's overall mission.

Therefore, it's no surprise that the local Famous Dave's barbecue restaurant is hosting a fundraiser to benefit The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in the Carpentersville community.

"This really gives us the chance to show our customers how much we appreciate their business, as well as show the Carpentersville community that we are glad to help," said Terry Bruner, general manager of the Carpentersville Famous Dave's.

"The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation does a great deal for this community and we are dedicated to promoting their positive efforts here."

In fact, all of the Famous Dave's restaurants in the greater Chicago area will help raise money for The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by donating 100 percent of their dessert sales on one of their busiest days of the year -- Mother's Day, which is this Sunday.

"Breast cancer impacts so many families that we felt we could help make a difference, and what better day to do so than on Mother's Day," Bruner said.

One might think that Famous Dave's specializes in providing a comforting and welcoming venue for dinner, but according to Bruner, the company caters for all occasions, including weddings, church picnics, banquets, parties, reunions and business lunches.

"We believe it is our responsibility to give back to the community and we hope that our efforts will lead other businesses in the local area to also get involved with the community, too," Bruner said.

"We are happy to be able to do our part."
