Enjoy Derby, help scholarship fund
A Kentucky Derby Party, to raise funds for the Ruth Tofanelli and Barb Lachel Scholarship Fund at Elgin Academy, will be held from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at The Anvil Club, 309 Meier St. in East Dundee.
The event will include appetizers and desserts, a derby raffle, bingo and hat contest and large screen televisions to view the preliminary activities and the "Run for the Roses."
The cost is $50 per person.

The Ruth Tofanelli and Barb Lachel Scholarship Fund honors two Fox Valley educators and provides scholarship funds making it possible for talented students in the Northwest and West suburbs to attend the independent school, preschool through 12th grade college-preparatory, in Elgin.
Men of Harmony take stage at Larkin
The Fox Valley Men of Harmony chorus will host a fast moving, multi-generation musical concert at 4 p.m. May 10 at Larkin High School, 1475 Larkin Ave., Elgin.
In addition to the local men's chorus, talented mixed vocal groups from area high schools will entertain with some of their best musical numbers. FVMH Musical Director and many-time District Quartet Champion, Doug Smith, will reprise a quartet from his past.
Featured performers will be The Crush International Collegiate Quartet, finalists from California who are members of the 2007 International Champion Westminster Barbershop Chorus.
