Lindenhurst teen charged in possible shaken baby case
Police continue to hold a Lindenhurst teen in custody in connection with a possible shaken baby case involving a 10-month-old girl.
David Hilerio, 18, of Lindenhurst, has been in Lake County Jail since Thursday under multiple charges, including endangering the life of a child, domestic violence, resisting arrest and reckless conduct.
Hilerio's bond has been set at $100,000 and a May 19 court date is scheduled.
Lindenhurst Police Chief Jack McKeever said additional criminal charges could be filed once the Lake County state's attorney receives a detailed hospital examination report.
A press release issued by police said the baby was taken by Flight for Life to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital April 29 with head injuries.
McKeever said the last he heard the baby was in intensive care, but expected to live.
McKeever said Hilerio is the baby's mother's boyfriend.
The baby and her mother live in the 2100 block of Fairfield Road.
