'The O'Conner Girls': The Village Theatre Guild will present "The O'Conner Girls" May 23-June 14 at the guild's theater on the northwest corner of Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn. 'Stones in His Pockets': The Buffalo Theatre Ensemble will perform the comedy "Stones in His Pockets" at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through May 25 at the McAninch Arts Center at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn. Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets cost $27-$30, with discounts for senior citizens and students. Tempo Players: The Tempo Players will hold auditions for their summer musical production, "Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?" at 7 p.m. May 27-28 at Rosary High School, 901 N. Edgelawn, Aurora. Callbacks will be at 7 p.m. May 29. Those who audition should prepare a song, preferably one from the show. The auditions also will include dancing and readings from the script. A variety of roles for actors able to play characters 18 and older are available. Rehearsals will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays starting June 1. Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, July 25-27 and Aug. 1-3. Be prepared to discuss all conflicts at auditions. Fairy tale: Kidz Kabaret will perform the fairy tale farce "Hansel and Gretel and the Big Woods" at 6:30 p.m. May 29 at the DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville. Benefit performance: Kidz Kabaret will give a benefit performance of John Steinbeck's drama "Of Mice and Men" at 2 and 5 p.m. June 1 and 7 p.m. June 2 at The Comedy Shrine, 22 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. Tickets cost $10, $8 for students and seniors and $6 for children 10 and younger. Proceeds will be donated to Mike Deely, a senior graduating from Naperville North High School and Kidz Kabaret member who will be attending the Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts in New York City. Readers' Theatre Group: Villa Park Recreation's Readers' Theatre Group meets from 3 to 4 p.m. Mondays at the Community Recreation Building, 320 E. Seeking new members: The Village Theatre Guild Inc. meets at 7:30 p.m. the third Monday of every month at the Village Theatre, on the northwest corner of Park Boulevard and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn. New members are welcome. The group is seeking both adults who enjoy acting and singing, as well as those who want to work behind-the-scenes with makeup, hair, costumes, props, set construction and design, lighting and sound.
