Deny deadbeat parents child visits
In the March 26 publication of the Daily Herald, there was an article about the state withholding hunting and fish licenses to deadbeat parents.
The problem with this is if they're not paying their child support, do you think the deadbeat parents care if they have a hunting license if they hunt?
In the article, the state brags about collecting $130,000 in past due child support payments. Big deal.
A better solution to collecting child support, which many states have adopted, is if you don't pay child support, you don't see your child.
In Illinois, if you don't pay your child support, you're still rewarded by being able to see your child. Can someone tell me how that is fair?
