Lawyer faces drug charge

A Chicago attorney has been charged with bringing drugs to an inmate at the Cook County jail. Nathan Billmaier is charged with one count of bringing contraband into a penal institution and one count of possession with intent to deliver. The Cook County sheriff's office says Billmaier was visiting inmate Donald Jordan when officers found 4 ounces of marijuana, 4 ounces of tobacco, six Ecstasy tablets and 40 matches in his paperwork. Officials allege the 34-year-old attorney got the drugs from Jordan's girlfriend. She and Jordan have also been charged and are in custody. Billmaier has been released after posting 10 percent of $150,000 bond. He did not immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday. The three are next due in court June 13.
