A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush
In response to Ed and Linda Colaprete (Fence Post, Saturday), this is one independent who will vote Democratic whether the nominee is Obama or Clinton, and especially if they are both on the ticket.
I have had enough of the Republicans in the White House and I feel like McCain, while somewhat independent, is still hard-line Republican.
Under McCain, we will still be in Iraq for years and not concentrating on Afghanistan, This man has no idea of how to straighten out our economy and his only claim to fame is our national defense but in the wrong place.
Mr. and Mrs. Colaprete, if you choose to vote for McCain if Obama gets the nod, then you do so. Be prepared for four more years of Bush policy but spun the McCain way.
I also guess you feel that the occupation of Iraq is correct and we need to stay there for years to come while ignoring the real problem in Afghanistan and finding bin Laden. You like the economy the way it is and so on. Please do vote for McCain if you so choose.
Obama is running a more successful campaign then Clinton is and he is getting better support from all avenues than she is.
By what right do you claim Obama does not respect America? Do you know this man at all? No.
You are way out of line to claim this, and you owe him an apology. Not wearing a flag on your lapel and not putting your hand over you heart during the pledge of allegiance does not mean you do not respect America.
This is called freedom of speech and he exercises his.
Obama speaks politics. Of course, he does. He is a politician just like Clinton. Both Clinton and Obama speak politics.
The superdelegates will vote the candidate who has the greatest popular vote and leads in delegates when the time comes and will vote to unite the Democratic party, whoever gets the nod.
If Obama is that candidate and you decide to defect and vote for McCain, then that is you choice and you get what you vote for.
