Chicago State U. Interim president named
Chicago State University officials say they've named an interim president. Frank Pogue Jr. will replace the school's embattled leader Elnora Daniel, who announced earlier this year she was stepping down amid criticism of her spending practices. Pogue will take over the South Side university in mid-July and serve for a year. He spent 11 years at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania before retiring last year. The announcement was made Wednesday at a board meeting. Daniel will leave the post on June 30, the day her contract expires. School trustees say they hope hiring a permanent president from outside the university will change the culture at the 7,000-student school.
