Fisk returns to White Sox as ambassador
Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk is returning to the Chicago White Sox as a team ambassador.
Fisk played for both the Boston Red Sox and White Sox. He is going to be honored during "Welcome Back Carlton Fisk Night" on May 22nd at U.S. Cellular Field.
During his 13 seasons with Chicago, Fisk played in 1,421 games, batted .257 with 214 home runs and 762 RBIs.
Fisk was an 11-time American League All-Star and the 1972 AL Rookie of the Year with Boston. He holds the major-league record for games caught (2,226) and ranks second in home runs by a catcher (351).
The White Sox retired his uniform number 72 in 1997 and unveiled a sculpture in his honor during the 2005 season.
