Aurora man faces sexual abuse charges
An Aurora man was accused Saturday of sexually abusing an underage girl, Kane County sheriff's police said.
Mark A. Romero, 29, of the 900 block of Rural Street in Aurora, was charged with three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of obscenity, police said.
This arrest was made after a two-week investigation by sheriff's officers with assistance by the Aurora Police and the Child Advocacy Center, police said.
Romero's charges stem from alleged inappropriate conduct with a juvenile, police said. Romero was taken into custody at the Kane County Sheriff's Department.
Aggravated criminal sexual abuse is a Class 2 felony punishable by three to seven years in prison for each count. Obscenity is a Class A felony punishable by up to one year in jail. Romero is being held at the Kane County jail pending a bond hearing.
