Thanks for backing recycling campaign

We would like to thank all the participants in this year's Glen Ellyn Recycle Extravaganza on April 26. Special thanks to The Kiwanis Club of Central DuPage, The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn, SCARCE, The Glen Ellyn League of Women Voters, Glen Ellyn Lions Club, Cub Scout Pack 150, Aurora Tri-State Fire Protection, It's Our Earth Inc., Computer & Laser Services, Inc., The Resource Center of Chicago, Salvation Army, Rotary Club, Eco Club of Glenbard West and VIM Recycling whose assistance helped make the event a success.

Most of the items collected will be reused to help others rather than end up in a landfill. More than 450 cars came to the event this year, which was more than double last year's numbers.

Also thanks to the village of Glen Ellyn leadership, staff, public works department and the Glen Ellyn Environmental Commission who made this event possible.

And finally most of all, thanks to the residents of Glen Ellyn who took the time to drive down and drop off their recyclable items. They made the event a success and at the same time helped the environment.
