March for Peace needs volunteers
Members of Chicago Area CodePINK and NW Suburban NOW families and friends will conduct the fourth annual March for Peace in the Arlington Heights Memorial Day parade at 9 a.m. May 26. Their message is "Honor Our Veterans, Support Our Troops."
The group, Unit 51, will meet near the village hall on Sigwalt Street. Volunteers are needed to purchase and/or distribute candy. Participants are asked to wear pink. E-mail caporusso@yahoo.com.
Lions sponsor hearing screening
The Lions Club of Arlington Heights will sponsor a hearing screening from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Arlington Heights Senior Center, 1800 W. Central. Registration is not required. A sign-up sheet will be available for interested parties. Children ages 10 to 17 will require written permission from a parent or guardian. The testing is non-invasive and harmless. Fitness activities offered for seniors
The Buffalo Grove Fitness Center, 601 W. Deerfield Pkwy, Buffalo Grove, is celebrating Senior Health and Fitness Month. Join in on a Sit N Fit and Flexibility class at 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Wednesday. Refreshments will be served following each class. Pack a brown bag and come at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays for an informational lunch. A senior luncheon will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. May 28.
