Busy Brain exhibits to visit special events
Busy Brains Children's Museum, which plans to open in Lake County in late 2009, will bring its traveling exhibits to three events in June: Libertyville Days, June 13 and 14 in downtown Libertyville; the Grayslake farmer's market June 25 in downtown Grayslake on Center and Slusser streets; and the Round Lake Streets of Summer June 28 at Goodnow and Avalon roads in downtown Round Lake.
The exhibits are geared toward children up to age 10. Busy Brains also will provide an opportunity for volunteers to sign up for any of its four standing committees. They are marketing; fundraising; finance and exhibits.
Co-founded by Alison Price and Kathy Goers, Busy Brains Children's Museum seeks to provide an environment where children, families and schools come together to discover their world through exhibits and programs in areas of the arts, sciences and humanities.
Busy Brains plans to open in late 2009 with 12,000 square feet, including 7,200 square feet of interactive exhibit galleries. Focus groups of teachers, parents, children, and businesses have been conducted to help in the exhibit decision making process. Exhibits will be completely interactive and focus on topics of interest to Lake County families and visitors.
