Iraq war a cause for our recession
While economists may disagree on the costs of the war and its effect on the recession, most recognize that there are trade-offs between Iraq spending and spending on domestic priorities.
According to a MoveOn.org sponsored report, 73 percent of Illinois voters would invest the funds here at home while only 22 percent would continue to put the money into Iraq.
This report will show our elected officials that we the voters know there is a recession because of the Iraq war and we want it to end.
The value of the dollar on the world market has fallen due to debt from Iraq, 80,000 jobs were lost in March for the third month in a row and as stated in the report, 59 percent of Illinois voters worry about the economy "a lot."
It's time to start acting on the will of the people and begin bringing our troops home.
