Not perfect, but it got the job done
Thank you for printing my poem about the lack of a Friday horoscope. "Where's Your Sign" (April 28 Neighbor Fencepost).
However, the poem was written in the form of a haiku. Although admittedly not a great poem, it did adhere to the classical format that dictates a three-line poem of 17 syllables, usually in a 5-7-5 form.
In my e-mail submission, the notation "To the Editor" was clearly placed before the title. By adding this as a first line you destroyed the form -- and my intent.
However it seems a moot point since the horoscope returned to "Time Out" on Friday, April 25. Thank you.
Once again I can come out from under my eiderdown quilt and face the world. Once again I can clean house, grocery shop, do the family laundry and dig up the flower beds. On second thought, would you consider removing the darned thing?
