Band battle registration deadline is Friday

The Elk Grove Rotary Club is hosting its annual Battle of the Bands competition during Rotaryfest which runs June 11-15 at Lions Park, in Elk Grove Village.

Friday is the last day to enter.

Bands wanting to compete must be local, up-and-coming groups that play original music. A committee will select four bands from the CD submissions and those bands will play on the main stage at 6, 7, 8 and 9 p.m. June 11. A panel of judges will vote on the performances and the top two bands will move to the final round on Sunday evening.

The breakdown of prize money is: First prize, $500; second prize, $250; third prize, $150 and fourth prize, $100. In addition, the first placed band will earn a spot for next year's fest.
