Briefs: MS Walk Sunday at Harper
The Northwest Suburban walk to cure multiple sclerosis steps off at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Harper College campus, 1200 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. This is one of 13 sites in Illinois where walks are taking place on Sunday -- last year's Northwest suburban MS Walk had more than 1,000 walkers, all of them raising money to fight MS. 50th year for ice show
The West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows is holding its 50th annual ice show this weekend. The arena is at 3939 Winnetka Ave. Shows are at 7 p.m. Friday, 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Flag Day run for veterans
Sign up now to participate in the Veterans Memorial Tollway 8K Run-Walk-Roll, that will be held June 15. The "8K in '08" on the Des Plaines River Valley Bridge supports area veterans and their families. All proceeds from the run will be distributed by Salute Inc., a local nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness and support for military personnel, veterans, and their families.
