EA again extends Take-Two deadline a third time

NEW YORK -- Video game publisher Electronic Arts is extending the deadline on its $2 billion tender offer for smaller rival Take-Two Interactive for a third time.

Redwood City, Calif.-based Electronic Arts Inc. said Monday it is extending the offer, which had expired Friday, through Monday, June 16.

The offer is still $25.74 per share, EA says. As of Friday, about 6.2 million shares had been tendered.

New York-based Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. is best known for its "Grand Theft Auto" series of games.

EA says the extension allows the Federal Trade Commission's antitrust review of the proposed acquisition to continue.
