Mothers Day Bake Sale: Save-A-Pet will hold a Mothers Day Bake Sale from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the adoption center. In addition to homemade cookies, bread and other baked goods, pet treats will also be for sale. All proceeds go toward helping Save-A-Pet cats and dogs.

Kitten shower: The public is invited to attend a kitten shower from noon to 2 p.m. May 17 at Save-A-Pet Adoption Center.

There will be games, surprises and refreshments. Suggested gifts include kitten nursing bottles, small animal digital scales, KMR powder kitten formula and Snuggle Safes, which are microwaveable heat disks. Financial donations also are appreciated.

Save-A-Pet also is looking for foster and adoptive homes for kittens.

Special Needs Pets Plant and Flower Sale: Visit with special needs dogs or cats and buy outdoor plants and flowers for the garden or patio from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 17. Twenty percent of the proceeds go directly to Save-A-Pet. Plants will be provided by Turks' Greenhouses.

Save-A-Pet/Caribou Coffee: Stop by Caribou Coffee, 6641 Grand Ave., Gurnee, for a cup of coffee from 2 to 10 p.m. May 20 and help the cats and dogs from Grayslake's Save-A-Pet No-Kill Adoption Center. Twenty percent of all sales will be donated to Save-A-Pet. Save-A-Pet feline and canine residents will be waiting outside to greet patrons.
