Cutting down trees would be a mistake

I cannot believe that the Glen Ellyn Park District would proceed with this horrible plan to cut down trees in Ackerman Park.

I have heard that "Not enough people care about it to stop the plan from proceeding". I firmly believe that if there were more widespread public knowledge of this planned project, the park district would quickly find out that this is not the case.

Please, before something is done that cannot be undone (i.e. cutting down these old, large trees), take some time. Have more public meetings about the project. Ask the public if they are interested in seeing more cookie-cutter strip mall stores in our town. Ask the public what they think about the direction Glen Ellyn has taken in the past eight to 10 years.

Let's not compound several mistakes such as the floral clock and existing (empty) 5 Corners stores by messing up something else even bigger!
