Portola merges manufacturing

Portola Packaging Inc. of Batavia announced it is consolidating its U.S. manufacturing footprint and leveraging its invested capital into three U.S. "Anchor" plants.

This move is part of the company's on-going strategy to invest in the most efficient manufacturing technologies and streamline its operations. Portola will consolidate its Clifton Park, N.Y. operation into their three other U.S.

locations of Batavia, Phoenix Ariz. and Kingsport, Tenn. The Tennessee facility will absorb the majority of the New York business.

The transition will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by November.
