Sixers clinch playoff berth; Spurs scored just 9 in fourth

When the Philadelphia 76ers last appeared in the playoffs, Andre Iguodala was a wide-eyed rookie responsible for passing the ball to Allen Iverson.

Now, over a year after Iverson was traded to Denver, Iguodala knows the Sixers will depend on him in the postseason.

"We just need to act like we've been there before," Iguodala said. "We've all played in pressure situations. Now it's just going to be at a higher level. We are talented enough and have a lot of young guys who come out and play hard."

Iguodala scored 30 points and Andre Miller had 23 to help the 76ers wrap up their first playoff spot in three years with a 109-104 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night in Atlanta.

Philadelphia, which stopped the Hawks' five-game winning streak, never trailed after Miller's layup tied it at 67-67 with 3:09 left in the third.

Combining with Iguodala for 25 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds and 1 steal in the fourth quarter, Miller was satisfied with holding off the Hawks' comeback from a 14-point deficit.

Joe Johnson led Atlanta, with 32 points, but he fell down and lost the ball on what appeared to be a damp floor while dribbling with 1:36 remaining.

The Hawks still have the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, 3 games over Indiana, which won at Milwaukee.

Jazz 90, Spurs 64: Mehmet Okur had 17 points and 16 rebounds for host Utah, which ended San Antonio's eight-game winning streak.

San Antonio, which scored 9 points in the fourth quarter and just 26 in the second half, matched its lowest point total in franchise history, set in a loss to Cleveland in March 1997. The Jazz held the defending NBA champion Spurs without a point for almost the first four minutes of the fourth quarter.

Utah's Deron Williams had his 50th double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 assists.

Warriors 117, Grizzlies 86: Andris Biedrins had 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Golden State climbed within a half-game of eighth place in the Western Conference with a victory over host Memphis.

Wizards 109, Heat 95: Caron Butler scored 29 points to lead Washington past visiting Miami to clinch a playoff spot for the fourth straight season.

It's the first time the team has qualified for the playoffs in four consecutive seasons since it made five straight appearances from 1983-88.

Bobcats 105, Raptors 100: Jason Richardson scored 27 points and Earl Boykins converted a 3-point play after stealing the ball from T.J. Ford in the final minute in Charlotte's victory over the host Toronto.

Chris Bosh had 23 points for the Raptors, who could have clinched a playoff berth with a victory.

In other games: Antonio McDyess scored 19 points, Rasheed Wallace added 17 points and 8 rebounds to lead host Detroit over New Jersey 106-87.
