Don't be so quick to judge priest

With all the current news items about Father Don McGuire I thought it was way past time to come to his defense.

I don't know if he is guilty of all the things that have been said about him lately, but I do know that he is and always will be a friend of our family, a 40-plus years friend.

When my son was born two and a half months premature, he was having serious heart issues and no mainstream Catholic priest would baptize him, Father McGuire was right there to give my son, who is now 28 years old, the sacraments.

Now, Father McGuire is gravely ill and the vultures want even more, that sickens me.

If the guilt is real, and I have my doubts, a far greater authority will deal with the problem.
