74 low-income area homes getting repairs

Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says a nonprofit organization that makes home repairs for elderly, disabled and low-income residents is setting an example.

Rebuilding Together is making repairs to 74 homes in the Chicago area. Volunteers, carpenters, plumbers and electricians worked in two city neighborhoods Saturday.

Dorothy Jones is a longtime resident of the impoverished West Englewood neighborhood. She says she feels blessed for the help she received. Workers on Saturday put a final coat of paint on her home.

Daley said in a news conference from Jones' front lawn that Rebuilding Together is making a difference.
