Catholic school reduces tuition

Christ the King School in Lombard has reduced tuition for next school year.

In affirming that its mission of providing a Catholic education should not be limited to affluent families, this preschool through eighth-grade institution has dropped the rate for the 2008-2009 school year to $2,400 per student, down from this year's rate of $3,175.

The school also is expanding its multi-age classes. In this model, children may be in classes with students from the grade above or below them, based on mastery of material. In this approach to education, learning groups are not bound by students' birthdays. Rather, it is the ability of each student that determines grouping. Because this method, by its nature, is fluid, students are able to move into different clusters as their talents and interests dictate.

Families interested in taking advantage of this tuition reduction, or in investigating the program of multi-age strands, should call (630) 627-0640.
