Learn about bicycle maintenance at club's meeting

Join the Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club April 9 for the monthly meeting, being held at Batavia Library, Route 31 and Wilson.

The program will be on bike maintenance. Prairie Path Cycles-Batavia will present a 35-minute session on bicycle maintenance.

The presentation will start at 7 p.m. Mike Ferrell and his mechanic will cover changing a tire/fixing a flat while on a tour, putting the chain back on, brake adjustment, derailleur adjustment, spoke tensioning and saddle height adjustment.

These maintenance tips will not necessarily take the place of professional maintenance as performed by a qualified bicycle shop but will help with basic bike maintenance and with emergency adjustments while on the roads or trails.

The public is welcome.

Fox Valley Bicycle & Ski Club will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a dinner/program from 2 to 6 p.m. April 13 at Riverview Banquets, 1111 N. Washington, Batavia.

Prospective members and former members/participants of Fox Valley Bicycle Club (originally St. Charles Bicycle Club) and Aurora Bicycle Club are especially invited to attend. Cost is $20.
