Obama's support of Stroger disturbing
More disturbing to me than Obama's ties to Rev. Wright were his actions at the election eve rally for Todd Stroger in 2006.
At the time, Obama was not an announced candidate, but a known national political figure.
He was joined on the platform by Mayor Daley, Jesse Jackson, Dick Durbin, and the rest of the party hacks.
Obama verbally extolled the virtues of Stroger, telling the crowd of his qualifications, dedication and his willingness to reorganize county government.
I cannot understand why a nationally known politician would even stoop to actively endorse a then-known incompetent weakling whose ascension to the candidacy was mired in muck to begin with. Did Obama do this because he owed the machine? If so, has that debt been repaid?
Representatives Shakowsky and Emmanuel didn't attend that rally. Word has it that they both refused to attend.
Talk about poor judgment. Why didn't Obama refuse?
