Barrington mall, shops host benefit

Barrington's Ice House Mall and Village Shops host the third annual Gal Pal Luncheon and Fashion Show to benefit breast cancer research from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.

The event features lunch at Chessie's Restaurant, followed by the "Fresh Look at Spring" fashion show.

Guest speakers will discuss breast cancer research and awareness, as well as proper nutrition and personal health.

Alzheimer's group to meet Thursday

The April meeting of the Alzheimer's Association Support Group, sponsored by the Barrington Area Council on Aging, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Eastlake Dining Room at the Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane.

The group provides education, speakers and support for families and caregivers of Alzheimer's patients.
