Hockey

Stevenson vs. Glenbard S.: The Stevenson Patriots beat the Glenbrook South team 3-1 in the fourth game of the Metro North Junior Varsity round robin playoffs. South was coming off a victory over first seed Glenbrook North and Stevenson was coming off of a defeat by New Trier.

Stevenson began the scoring in the first period when Marc Weiner scored on a rebound. Glenbrook tied the game in the second period.

In the third period the Patriots' Justin Krupp scored on a power play on a soft shot from the blue line. It appeared to hit someone in front of the net and deflected past the goalie for what proved to be the game winner. Tyler St. Martin scored to clinch the game at 3-1. Strong play by Marc Weiner and Justin Krupp combined with Mitch Levinson's goaltending contributed to the victory.

After the game, Stevenson still had to defeat Lake Forest and Glenbrook South would have to lose to St. Viator for Stevenson to advance in the Metro playoffs.
